  • Curing Diseases in Order of Importance

Pandemics (global epidemics such as HIV) have the potential to kill all human life of the planet. Then why is it that diseases, such as cancer and Alzheimer's disease, have massive research budgets to find cures for them, when there are other diseases that are more important to cure? I completely understand how difficult and detached this may seem, but should we not address our biggest problems first?

I am NOT saying to stop finding cures for all diseases that do not threaten all of humanity, but prioritize which diseases need solving first and then maximize the research budgets for curing those diseases first.

Pharmaceutical companies need to realize that is in their best interest to find cures for preserving mankind from extinction, otherwise they would be out of business. Contact pharmaceutical companies (such as Pfizer and GlaxoSmithKline) and let them know what diseases (HIV) these companies need to spend most of their research.

Also, contact your national government (for example, the White House and the Center for Disease Control) and let them know where to best place their funding and grants.
