  • Can You Recycle Envelopes with Plastic Windows?

Have you ever wondered if you can recycle envelopes with those tiny plastic windows?

Obviously, you can always tear apart the plastic and paper portions of envelopes and recycle each part separately. I meant to ask: Can you recycle paper envelopes with plastic windows WITHOUT separating them?

With significant amount of research, I found that that you can sometimes recycle those types of envelopes. Some of the newer paper recycling facilities are able to separate non-paper from paper products, including staples and plastic. However, most paper recycling plants do not have this technology.

Therefore, all you have to do is contact your local paper recycling center, and ask them what their requirements for recycling paper are. They probably already have a website to answer these types of questions.

As a result, a little bit of effort is all that is needed to possibly help save you time and aggravation when recycling. Maybe this will help get more people to recycle more too.
