  • The Secret to a Well Kept Yard

My secret to a well kept yard is constant maintenance.

Most people only do yard work about once a month or less often if possible. Essentially, whenever the grass needs mowing is when most people also do all of their other yard work. As a result of ignoring their yard for so long, there is much more labor intensive work that needs to be done, therefore these people need to spend a great deal of time catching up to make their yard look under control again. This task sometimes even takes up an entire weekend… a very exhausting weekend.

My secret is simply this. Every weekend, if possible, spend at least 15 to 30 minutes cleaning up the yard. Just by pulling weeds while they are only a few of them and trimming bushes before they start to look wild and out of control will make your yard always look well kept. Furthermore, by preventing small problems from becoming large problems, this simple trick makes yard work overall less exhausting and time consuming.

So, reserve some time each weekend, such as on Saturday mornings, to maintain your yard and garden just a little bit. You do not need to do all the work that needs to be done, but by breaking it down into manageable parts saves a lot of future time and effort. If necessary, try doing it twice a week.

Therefore, to have a yard that consistently looks well kept, we must constantly give some attention to it.
