Why People Make Bad Decisions
Imagine for a moment how stupid the average person is. Do you realize half of the world's population is dumber than that?
Yeah, the world is full of idiots.
That’s why a lot of people make bad decisions… often. Even smart people, who are well educated and should know better, periodically make horrible decisions for themselves, their families, their jobs, and their businesses.
This is the only possible explanation that I have for why a lot of Americans owe so much money. For instance, a lot of people took adjustable rate mortgages (ARMs) to buy a home, even though they could barely afford the mortgage payments when the interest rates were low. And now that interest rates are higher, these same people are unable to afford their mortgage payments and may lose their homes.
Sure, there are some people who are very careful with their lives and money, but they are definitely in the minority and no one is perfect. This is why I continue to expect most people to make bad decisions more often than not.
However, I also believe that individuals are completely responsible for their decisions, no matter whom or what influenced them. Therefore, the reason why so many people make so many bad decisions is because the average person is an idiot. Additionally, idiots are responsible for their actions and words.
