Natural versus Man-Made
Here is something to think about that has been bothering me:
If ants are part of nature, then ants are natural. If ants are natural, then anything that ants make or build is also natural, such as ant hills.
Using the same logic, we can have the same conclusion:
If mankind is part of nature, then mankind is natural. If mankind is natural, then anything that mankind makes is also natural. Thus, all man-made objects are natural.
However, all man-made objects are not considered natural, as if mankind's changes are not part of nature.
I believe everything that exists, has existed, or will exist is natural to the universe. I realize this may only seem as a matter of semantics, but I think it is important to highlight that all of mankind's activities are natural. Of course, natural does not imply good or safe.
