Stupid Questions versus Stupid People
I do not know who first said this expression, but I've been saying it a lot recently, and I have noticed that the meaning has changed as I've gotten older.
When I was younger, I remember thinking that this expression meant that questions themselves are not stupid or smart; but rather, some people are stupid, because they ask questions that have obvious answers.
However, now I realize the expression means that all people are stupid.
Think about this for a moment. It means everyone is stupid, but go ahead and ask questions. Answering questions will not make anyone not stupid; however if they are lucky, they may become more knowledgeable.
